Introduction

The Second Cluster-Level NIPUN Meeting for the academic session 2026–27 was organized online by PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Chittaranjan on 22 August 2026. On behalf of PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Andal, Mrs. K. P. Soy, Senior Primary Teacher, Ms. Nancy Pandey, Primary Teacher, and Mr. Shivam Purwar, Primary Teacher, participated in the meeting.

The objective of the meeting was to strengthen Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) and enhance the quality of learning in the primary classes.

Importance of the Meeting

The meeting provided teachers with an opportunity to discuss student-centred teaching, continuous assessment, remedial teaching, and the effective implementation of FLN activities. Valuable teaching strategies and practices were shared through the experiences of teachers from different schools.

Major Topics Discussed During the Meeting

1. Report of the First Cluster-Level Meeting and records of classroom activities.

2. Format and analysis of question papers for Classes 3–5.

3. Action plan for slow learners.

4. Maintenance of portfolios and continuous assessment.

5. Teaching practices related to phonemic awareness and foundational concepts.

6. Monthly Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) for primary classes.

7. Effective utilization of 10 periods for FLN enhancement in Classes 1 and 2.

8. Plans for improvement in FLN, LAT, and ORF, along with the presentation of best practices.

9. Effective utilization of the school library and experiences and suggestions shared by the Principals.

Benefits Gained from the Meeting

The meeting provided practical suggestions for identifying students’ learning levels, providing remedial teaching according to their needs, conducting continuous assessment, improving oral reading fluency, and developing foundational skills. Emphasis was also placed on enhancing teacher collaboration and increasing parental involvement in students’ learning.

Conclusion

The meeting was informative and useful. The suggestions and strategies discussed during the meeting will be implemented in the primary classes of PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Andal to provide special support to slow learners, ensure regular assessment, and make FLN activities more effective.
